Arex +110 horizontal

Ductable air handling unit for false ceiling in galvanized sheet metal, with air renewal and heat recovery function

AREX+ 110 horizontal is a mechanical ventilation unit with dual airflow and heat recovery, designed for ceiling installation. The unit, with excellent performance, is designed to supply the required airflow for air renewal and to recover heat from the exhaust air, transferring it to the incoming air. The units, with high performance, are constructed with a robust sheet metal structure.

Each unit is equipped with:

  • Hexagonal air-to-air heat exchanger, made of polystyrene, with counterflow and efficiency over 90% (TUV certified).
  • Anti-freeze thermostat to protect the heat recovery unit.
  • Three-speed fans for continuous use, with reverse blades, integrated thermostat for over-temperature protection, and automatic restart.
  • Visual signal for dirty filters to be connected to the appropriate clean contact.
  • External air filter and recovered air filter of F7 class.

All units, compliant with European ERP directives and EN standards, are CE and DoP marked.

Application Field

The units are designed for the following functions in residential or small commercial buildings:

  • Provide fresh air, drawn from outside the building, with a flow rate of up to 110 m³/h of fresh air,
  • Recover over 90% of the heat from the stale air extracted from the rooms to heat (in winter) and cool (in summer) the new air before introducing it into the environment, achieving significant energy savings.
  • Filter the air coming from the outside and the air extracted from technical rooms.

They can be installed in a false ceiling and can be ducted through both rigid and flexible ventilation ducts.

The air renewal capacity of each unit is 110 m³/h.

AREX+ 110 horizontal ensures an air renewal rate of 0.5 Volumes/h for rooms with a floor area of 120 m² (assuming a height of 2.80 m).

OPERATING MODE

The unit is equipped with a centrifugal fan with reverse blades and a maintenance-free motor (1), with overload thermal protection, which extracts stale air and expels it outside. A second fan (2), with the same characteristics, draws fresh air from the outside and sends it into the rooms. Through two heat exchangers, arranged in series (3), the heat contained in the exhaust air is recovered and transferred to the fresh air. The crossflow heat exchangers are made of aluminum. The external air is filtered (4), as is the stale air extracted from the technical rooms (5). When the external air temperature drops to the point where there is a risk of ice forming in the heat exchangers, a safety thermostat (6) stops the fan for a sufficient time. A control unit (7) ensures the proper operation of the machine. The condensation formed in the heat exchangers is collected in the tray (8) and drained through the drain tube (9).

The airflow rate can be adjusted manually or automatically according to the needs. Automatic adjustment is possible with the installation of sensors capable of detecting odors and pollutants (optional).
